TOKYO and NEWARK, N.J., Oct. 14, 2025 - Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE: PRU) announced today that it has appointed Brad Hearn as the next president and chief executive officer of Prudential Holdings of Japan (PHJ), effective Oct. 10.
Hearn, who previously served as chief operating officer for Prudential's Japan operations, will succeed Motofusa Hamada. Hamada will serve as an advisor through the end of the year, ensuring a smooth leadership transition.
"Brad brings more than 30 years of strategic operations leadership experience in the financial services industry," said Andy Sullivan, Prudential Financial's chief executive officer. "I'm confident in Brad's leadership and his ability to drive growth across our Japan operations."
Prior to this role and his move to Tokyo, Hearn was president of Prudential Advisors, Prudential's U.S. retail and advice business, where nearly 3,000 financial advisors provide holistic advice and solutions to support clients through risk management, retirement income and goals-based investing. Prior to joining Prudential in 2018, Hearn served as executive vice president of Business Consulting for the Independent Advisor Services unit of LPL Financial.
