China, Afghanistan and Pakistan Hold an Informal Meeting

From April 1 to 7, 2026, China, Afghanistan and Pakistan held an informal meeting in Urumqi, Xinjiang. Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs Liu Jinsong and Special Envoy on Afghan Affairs Yue Xiaoyong of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Chief of Staff Mr. Mohibullah Wasiq of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, and Additional Secretary Dr. Syed Ali Asad Gillani of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan led delegations to attend the meeting. ‌The meeting was held in a candid, pragmatic, and friendly atmosphere. During the meeting, Wang Jianxin, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Regional Committee, collectively met with and hosted a banquet for the delegations from Afghanistan and Pakistan.
