Washington, DC, September 23, 2025 - NATA (the National Air Transportation Association) is pleased to recognize Federal Aviation Administration Deputy Administrator Chris Rocheleau as the 2025 recipient of its Distinguished Public Service Award, recognizing his leadership during a pivotal time for aviation and honoring the integrity and character that have defined his career.
Deputy Administrator Rocheleau has dedicated his career to strengthening the national airspace system through safety, modernization, and industry partnership. His ongoing leadership as Deputy Administrator-and service as Acting FAA Administrator during a critical and tragic time for aviation in 2025-demonstrated the steady guidance and integrity needed to navigate unprecedented challenges. Throughout this period, he engaged industry stakeholders, prioritized safety, and fostered collaboration that reinforced public trust and strengthened the aviation system.
A longtime advocate for business and general aviation, Deputy Administrator Rocheleau has worked closely with industry partners to advance policies supporting operational safety, workforce development, and innovation. His background includes service as Chief Operating Officer of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), where he championed issues vital to aviation businesses nationwide, and a distinguished career in the U.S. Air Force.
"Chris has not only provided steady leadership during one of the most trying times for aviation, but he has also shown a genuine care for the people and communities our industry serves," said NATA President and CEO Curt Castagna. "His deep knowledge of the industry and his ability to listen, bring people together, and keep safety at the forefront have earned the respect and trust of colleagues across government and industry. NATA is proud to honor Chris with this award in recognition of his dedication, character, and leadership."
NATA's Distinguished Public Service Award is presented annually to individuals in government whose efforts and leadership have significantly contributed to the advancement of aviation and strengthened collaboration with the general aviation community.
Rocheleau will be formally honored during NATA's 2025 Aviation Business Conference in Dallas, Texas, on November 18, 2025.
