Host Employees “Wrap Up” the Year by Giving Back to Local Families This Holiday Season

This holiday season, Host employees once again came together to make the holidays brighter for local families in need-continuing a cherished tradition in partnership with Central Union Mission. This vital organization provides emergency housing, hot meals, medical care, education and workforce training, counseling, and other essential support to homeless and underprivileged men, women, and children in the Washington, D.C. area.

Thanks to the leadership of Host's service team and the generosity of employees, Host sponsored 65 children this year through Central Union Mission's Operation Christmas Miracle program-ensuring each child received thoughtfully selected gifts, along with essential winter items to help them stay warm during the colder months. In addition to toys and gifts, every child received a coat, warm blanket, winter hat and gloves, providing both comfort and joy this holiday season.

Together, employees made personal donations which were used toward purchasing gifts, along with Amazon gift cards to further support the children and their families and help ensure that every child's holiday wishes were fulfilled.

The holiday giving initiative culminated in a festive gift-wrapping party and happy hour at Host's headquarters, where employees gathered together to wrap approximately 400 presents and celebrate the season and the spirit of giving. These gifts were hand-delivered to Central Union Mission in Washington, D.C. for distribution to local families in time for the holidays.

Tracy Duncan, senior director, Comprehensive Family Resource Center at Central Union Mission, shared:

"Presents, presents, and more beautifully wrapped presents! Wow! Thank you everyone for your time, treasure, and teamwork. Because of you, more than 60 children will have gifts to open this Christmas holiday. Just as we remember our childhood special moments, these children (and parents) will too-because of you. YOU made a difference. Thank you on behalf of the families, children, and Central Union Mission!"
