BALTIMORE, MD (Monday, December 29, 2025) - Today, Mayor Brandon M. Scott released his 2026 Legislative Priorities ahead of the upcoming General Assembly, which will convene on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
"This session is an opportunity for the City of Baltimore to advocate for funding and support that will help us sustain the historic progress we are making," said Mayor Brandon M. Scott. "We know that the General Assembly will face hard choices to balance the budget, but we're committed to working alongside our partners to bring home the resources and policies that our residents need and deserve."

Key Legislative Priorities Include:
In addition to the legislative priorities included in this list, Mayor Scott will support legislation to streamline notice provisions for judicial in-rem tax foreclosure, update the eligibility criteria for the homeowners tax credit, expand Baltimore's authority to install and operate speed cameras, improve laws against improper vehicle registration, and decriminalize drug paraphernalia. Mayor Scott will also work with other Baltimore-area officials supporting capital projects and advocating for regional and city-specific priorities in budget discussions.
