USDA Announces $3.5 Million Investment for Village of Constantine Fire Station

U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Michigan State Director Dom Restuccia today announced $3.5 million to construct a fire station for the Village of Constantine in St. Joseph County.

"For many rural communities, the cost of upgrading critical infrastructure for first responders is simply beyond their means," said Restuccia. "Thanks to the work accomplished by Congressman Tim Walberg to secure this funding, Constantine's first responders will have the facilities they need to do their jobs. It is a top priority of the Trump-Vance Administration to support our heroic first responders and honor the work they do. Under the leadership of Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, we are ensuring that first responders have the resources they need and that emergency response services are available across all of rural Michigan."

USDA provided a $1.96 million loan and $1.55 million grant through Rural Development's Community Facilities Program . The funds will be used to construct a fire station that will contain offices, training rooms, bathrooms, locker rooms, regulation-sized bays for fire trucks, and storage area for equipment. The replacement facility will meet current national and state standards and allow for future development.
