US Gigawatt Datacenters Deployment Team Witness “The Power Behind AI” First-Hand

Senior representatives of major US data-centre deployments visit Langley Power Solutions factories in Europe

Langley Power Solutions hosted a select group of strategically important customers and partners representing gigawatt scale AI datacenter deployments in the USA last week for an intensive four-day programme across its three factories in Italy, Germany and Norway.

The visit, starting and finishing in London held from 14-17 September, brought senior project decision-makers and financial stakeholders to Marelli Motori, Piller Power Systems and Bergen Engines to witness first-hand the technologies being developed and deployed to support the extraordinary growth in US AI power demand.

With the United States leading the global build-out of hyperscale and AI compute infrastructure, power availability has become one of the sector's most critical constraints.

Increasingly, developers are looking increasingly beyond the grid for solutions capable of delivering power at speed, at scale and with the resilience required for mission-critical AI compute.

That challenge - and Langley's solution to it - was at the centre of last week's visit.

Across the four days, the US-focused delegation saw how Langley Power Solutions is bringing together three complementary technologies to address the complete power chain for large-scale AI deployments.

At Marelli Motori, visitors toured the manufacturing operations behind the electrical machines that convert mechanical energy into dependable electrical power.

At Piller Power Systems, the focus moved to one of the most demanding aspects of AI infrastructure: maintaining power quality and stability as AI computing loads change dramatically within fractions of a second.

The programme culminated at Bergen Engines, where the group saw the medium-speed engine technology at the heart of Langley's rapidly expanding US data-center business.

The delegation saw SHIELDX, Piller's gold-standard power conditioning technology operating first-hand, demonstrating how highly dynamic AI loads can be isolated and stabilised.

Discussions throughout the programme centred on the requirements of major projects now being developed across the United States, including scale, deployment speed, resilience, standardisation and the ability to deliver gigawatt scale behind-the-meter (BTM) power.

The visit also gave the delegates direct access to Langley's senior management, engineers and operational teams, enabling detailed discussions around current projects and future US requirements.

The visit reflects the growing importance of the United States to Langley Power Solutions as developers seek increasingly large-scale alternatives and supplements to traditional grid supply, turning increasingly to BTM solutions.

With individual AI campuses now being conceived at gigawatt scale, Langley is aligning its manufacturing capacity, product strategy and engineering resources around this rapidly developing market.

For the visitors, last week provided an opportunity to see that capability at source.

For Langley Power Solutions, it demonstrated the growing strategic relationship between its European manufacturing base and the next generation of American AI infrastructure.
