The City of West Hollywood is proud to co-sponsor the Black Design Collective's exclusive Los Angeles premiere of the award-winning documentary Love, Patrick: Nothing Is Impossible during L.A. Fashion Week on Friday, October 16, 2026. The event will take place at the Pacific Design Center's Silver Screen Theater (Green Building), located at 8687 Melrose Avenue. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with red carpet arrivals and a reception, followed by a program at 7 p.m. and screening at 7:30 p.m. A talk back and Q&A will immediately follow the film, and a reception will close out the evening. RSVP is required as space is extremely limited. To request a seat, submit your information to the Black Design Collective at RSVP - Love, Patrick.
Love, Patrick: Nothing Is Impossible honors the life and legacy of Patrick Kelly, a groundbreaking American fashion designer who rose to international prominence and became the first American admitted to the Chambre Syndicale du Prêt-à-Porter in Paris. As an openly gay Black designer, Kelly created bold and joyful designs that challenged racial stereotypes, celebrated Black culture, and expanded representation in the international fashion world. Kelly died in 1990 of AIDS-related complications, but his work and influence continue to resonate with designers and artists today. The evening will bring together the city's fashion and costume design communities, film and television professionals, and media to celebrate Kelly's artistic contributions while examining the intersections of fashion, race, LGBTQ+ identity, representation, and creative expression.
Members of the media interested in covering the event must RSVP on or before October 12 to Linda Jones at [email protected]. Media check-in begins at 5:30 p.m. on the evening of the event.
