The following statement from the Software & Information Industry Association can be attributed to Paul Lekas, Senior Vice President, Global Public Policy in response to the proposed AI State Moratorium.

We support national, uniform rules for AI governance in the US. Although the states are in general the laboratories of democracy, the nearly 1000 AI-related bills introduced in states this year create an impossible situation. We view the Senate's proposal as the first step in much-needed Congressional development of a clear, national policy. We support getting funding to the states as quickly as possible to support broadband funding and AI access."
