GeoPark, among Colombia's most sustainable companies according to Portafolio and Forbes

Bogotá, Colombia
October 2, 2026

The Company was included in Portafolio's 100 Most Sustainable and Forbes Colombia's 50 Leading Sustainability Companies

GeoPark, an independent leading energy company with over 20 years of successful operations in Latin America, was included in corporate sustainability specials published by major Colombian media outlets. Portafolio featured the company in '100 Most Sustainable' and Forbes in '50 Leading Sustainability Companies'-recognitions that reaffirm its commitment to producing energy responsibly and contributing to development in the territories where it operates.

Portafolio's '100 Most Sustainable' highlights companies operating in Colombia that have integrated sustainability into their management and demonstrate tangible progress. The publication used as reference companies' sustainability reports and external validators such as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, S&P Global's Sustainability Yearbook and the Merco ESG Responsibility ranking.

Forbes' list, meanwhile, includes companies with financial strength backed by international benchmarks such as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, S&P Global, Merco ESG and certifications from Icontec and CECODES. For publicly listed companies like GeoPark, Forbes reviewed ESG risk ratings available from research providers Morningstar and Sustainalytics.

These recognitions arrive in a year when GeoPark met the first target of its decarbonization plan, defined in 2021 with a 2020 baseline, and consolidated its sustainability advances reflected in its latest 2025 SPEED/Sustainability Report. Key achievements include:

Fulfillment of the decarbonization commitment made in 2021, with a 35% reduction in emissions intensity over five years, reaching 9.3 kgCO₂e/BOE-well below the global industry average (~20 kgCO₂e/BOE, according to IOGP).
A reduction exceeding 70% in methane emissions over the last five years, confirmed in December 2025 by independent firm InsightM (now Zietview), which concluded there are no significant leaks in GeoPark's operations in Colombia (Meta and Casanare) after reviewing 30 facilities and 60 kilometers of pipelines.

First disclosure aligned with the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) recommendations, a global framework that enables companies to identify, assess and report nature-related risks and opportunities.
Year-end closure with zero fatalities and the lowest recordable incident rate in four years (0.57 versus 0.69 in 2022), achieved across 6.99 million work hours by 382 employees and over 1,700 contractors, including a new operation across two unconventional oil blocks in Vaca Muerta, Argentina.

USD 10.4 million in socio-environmental investment benefiting over 300,000 people, through programs aimed at improving living conditions for communities, promoting economic autonomy and supporting community-serving initiatives.

The achievements reached demonstrate that sustainability is integrated into GeoPark's strategy and is key to building a responsible energy future in the region.
