JEFFERSON CITY , M o . - The Missouri Department of Transportation is seeking community input on a project to replace the Phelps County Route HH bridge over Spring Creek , n orth of Rolla . Built in 19 58 , the Spring Creek Bridge is in poor condition, s howing signs it has reached the end of its useful life, and in need of replacement. Construction is expe cte d in 2027 .
Replacing the bridge will require a full closure of Route HH at the bridge for approximately five months . There will be no signed detour, but signed located well ahead of the closure will alert motorist use an alternate route.
As part of the design process, MoDOT is seeking community input and has multiple ways by which interested parties can provide feedback during the open comment period, May 13 - June 3 , 202 6 . By commenting, questioning, and providing community insight, the public's input is essential in helping to guide the design and construction process.
MoDOT asks all motorists to work with us by buckling up, putting your phone down, obeying all traffic signs, and slowing down and moving over in work zones. Motorists are advised to use extra caution through work zones, obey all traffic signs, and avoid any distractions.
