Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus P.Utyupin expresses condolences over the death of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia

On March 20, 2026 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Pavel Utyupin, visited the Georgian Embassy in Minsk and left an entry in the book of condolences on the death of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness Ilia II.

'Ilia II was not only an outstanding primate of the Church, but also a true spiritual and national leader of Georgia, whose words united people, strengthened faith and inspired hope in the most difficult times. His quiet wisdom, humanness and sincere concern for everyone left a deep mark on the hearts of millions,' the message of condolence reads.

P.Utyupin expressed his sympathy and support to the Georgian Orthodox Church and the Georgian people over this heavy loss.
