Monmouth University Named to Money Magazine’s Best Colleges in America List

Monmouth University has again been recognized by Money magazine as one of the nation's Best Colleges in America, earning a place on the publication's 2026 list of institutions that provide students with a strong return on their educational investment. The recognition marks the 12th consecutive year Monmouth has appeared on the annual roster.

Each year, Money evaluates colleges and universities across the country to identify schools that combine academic quality with affordability and strong student outcomes. The rankings are designed to help prospective students and families compare colleges based on educational value, with a focus on the balance between cost, financial aid, and graduates' long-term success.

For 2026, Money recognized 735 four-year public and private nonprofit institutions from an initial pool of more than 2,400 colleges nationwide. Monmouth was among the schools that met the publication's standards for delivering both a high-quality education and meaningful value for students.

A distinguishing feature of Money's methodology is its emphasis on value added. In addition to examining graduates' financial success, the rankings consider how well a college performs relative to other institutions serving similar student populations. According to the publication, this approach helps measure the impact a college has on student outcomes rather than simply rewarding institutions that enroll the highest-achieving applicants.
