The C3 AI 2025 summer interns meet for lunch with Executive Chairman Tom Siebel
The summer internship experience at C3 AI's Redwood City headquarters allows young professionals from computer science, data science, statistics, business development, and engineering backgrounds to take academic theory and apply it to practical, hands-on projects.
During the program, interns hone deep technical skills such as designing and deploying machine learning and deep learning algorithms, prompt engineering, and utilizing prototyping languages - in service of building highly desirable expertise and knowledge for a career in Enterprise AI software development.
Hear from our 2025 summer intern class about the technical expertise, real-world experiences, and values they're taking away from their time at HQ:
A differentiator of C3 AI's internship program is a multi-month project where interns are embedded within existing teams across engineering, data science, and more to develop solutions for C3 AI customers. These projects range in scope from deploying C3 AI application features and tools, to developing and enhancing new ones to address business issues.
"Although I had done many interesting projects before, knowing my work at C3 AI had an actual impact made my work much more rewarding. I became invested in the process of continually developing a product and adapting to new bugs and expectations. On top of being able to work on projects that had real-world applications, I really enjoyed the process of working with the other talented engineers on my team. I was able to learn from their problem solving and design skills."
- Pulkit Agarwal, Engineering Intern, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
"Outside of everything I was able to learn from those around me, I also got the chance to finally apply so much of the material I've been learning in school to projects in the real world…It felt as if my team was treating me as a real employee and an equal, not just some student who was still in school."
- Kyler Yu, Engineering Intern, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
"While schoolwork is cool and all, it really hit me the difference of building something for the sake of getting an individual grade and building something for real-life implication on users. From coming up with the data pipeline in the backend, to the actual visual design of the UI, everything gravitated towards one core aspect: the customer. Providing the most optimal solution to the customer's need was one that required much repetition and tailoring, yet a process I thoroughly enjoyed."
- Richard Yun, Customer Engineering Intern, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
C3 AI Engineering Intern, Pulkit Agarwal, delivers his final presentation to document key highlights and takeaways from his project
C3 AI's summer internship is aligned with the company's core values and reiterates the importance of leading with collective intelligence, curiosity, innovation, and integrity.
"Throughout my internship, the values of innovation and curiosity were not just abstract ideas; they were part of the daily rhythm at C3 AI. From day one, I was encouraged to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and explore new approaches to solving problems. Whether it was experimenting with different ways to code a Type or diving into the architecture of the Digital Twin platform, curiosity drove my learning and growth."
- Cristobal Medina, ESoftware Engineering Intern, Tecnológico de Monterrey
"This experience underscored the power of teamwork in dissecting complex issues and leveraging diverse perspectives - blending computer vision with domain-specific insights. In the end, it not only cleared the impasse but fortified the project's reliability, advancing C3 AI's commitment to efficient AI in engineering. It taught us all that shared perseverance and open dialogue are key to innovation, a lesson we'll apply in future endeavors."
- Kevin Mathew T, Data Science Intern, New York University
"The fast-paced, collaborative, and supportive environment at C3 AI pushed me beyond my comfort zone and gave me a platform to experiment, fail fast, and iterate efficiently. I was surrounded by mentors and team members who valued curiosity, thoroughness, and responsibility. This experience sharpened my ability to think critically about not just how something works, but whether it works reliably, fairly, and ethically."
- Gustavo Tellez, Engineering Intern, Tecnológico de Monterrey
"Thanks to C3 AI, I now deeply value collective intelligence as a key to success. It's about creating an environment where everyone feels supported and empowered. Moving forward, I plan to foster this spirit in future teams, knowing firsthand how it improves outcomes and personal growth."
- Gael Garcia, Engineering Intern, Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara
"I saw innovation in action not only in the technology we were building but also in the way my teammates approached their work, constantly iterating, sharing ideas, and pushing boundaries. This culture of exploration made it easy to contribute, learn, and feel like a valued part of the team, even as an intern."
- Cristobal Medina, Software Engineering Intern, Tecnológico de Monterrey
C3 AI interns hear career advice and learnings from Tom Siebel during a professional development lunch
Interns walk away from their time with C3 AI with more clarity regarding what they want from their career and with the experience they need to succeed.
"This summer has confirmed my passion for innovation and solving complex problems aligns perfectly with where I want to be in data science. I now feel clear and more confident than ever about the path ahead."
- Pranav Setlur, Data Science Intern, Carnegie Mellon University
"I appreciated how interns at C3 AI are given meaningful work and trusted to contribute to the [company's] products, which I've learned isn't always the case at other companies. This experience has helped me realize how much I enjoy building and shipping software that solves real-world problems, and it's given me clarity that I want to start my career as a software engineer."
- Kalp Vyas, Engineering Intern, Georgia Institute of Technology
"This opportunity showed me how much I enjoy tackling challenging architectural problems that have a tangible impact at scale. Operating at every level, from technical brainstorming to implementation, made me realize just how much I enjoy developing sound, robust solutions in dynamic contexts."
- Soham Rajpure, Software Engineering Intern, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
"When I first joined C3 AI, I was mostly considering a career in general software development or game development. But after immersing myself in the world of QA - building testable apps, verifying behavior, and improving quality workflows - I've seriously started considering a future as a QA Engineer. This internship showed me how important quality is, especially when working with AI systems at scale, where even a small failure can have a massive impact on user trust."
- Diego Medina, Engineering Intern, Universidad de Guadalajara, CUCEI
