Statement by ParaZero Technologies Ltd. following the tragic drone show accident on Saturday, December 21st, 2024 in Orlando

The entire ParaZero team extends our thoughts and prayers to Alexander, the 7-year-old boy who sustained severe injuries during the drone show incident in Orlando, Florida. We are deeply saddened to learn that he had to undergo open-heart surgery after being struck by a falling drone. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to Alexander, his family, and all those affected by this tragic event. We join the community in wishing Alexander a full and speedy recovery.

This incident underscores the profound responsibility that drone operators bear to ensure public safety, particularly during events involving large crowds. Operating drones in populated areas demands the highest standards of preparation, professionalism, and accountability. Operators must conduct thorough pre-flight assessments, adhere to all regulatory guidelines, prioritize safety as a fundamental part of their mission, and take any risk mitigation measures to the best of their ability.

The drone operators' community should recognize that technical malfunctions can occur and acknowledge the fact that even minor malfunctions can have severe consequences, as seen in this tragic incident. Beyond technical expertise, operators must prioritize and incorporate fail-safe mechanisms and emergency contingency plans to safeguard both spectators and bystanders.

At ParaZero, we are committed to supporting drone operators in fulfilling these responsibilities. Our Parachute Recovery System (PRS), with its Autonomous Triggering System (ATS) is designed as a risk mitigation tool for drone operators and is set to prevent accidents in the event of unexpected technical failures and or human errors. After many rigorous tests, such as those performed during the ASTM F3322 certification, ParaZero's systems are well-recognized for risk mitigation ability by regulatory authorities across the globe, from the FAA and Transport Canada in North America, EASA and CAA in Europe and CASA in Australia.

Drones are incredible tools for creativity, innovation and are definitely the future, but they come with risks that must be managed responsibly. ParaZero is determined to utilize its patent technology to help operators mitigate the risk, keeping the public safe and allowing the drone industry to flourish.

Again, we would like to wish young Alexander and his family a full and speedy recovery and wish everyone happy holidays and a happy new year.
