FDOT Resurfacing Project

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is resurfacing a section of State Road (S.R.) 514 (Malabar Road) from west of Interstate 95 (I-95) to east of S.R. 507 (Babcock Street) in Palm Bay. Additionally, pedestrian curb ramps will be reconstructed to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
During construction, motorists should expect intermittent single lane closures between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m. The posted speed limit of 45 mph will remain in effect throughout the work zone. Motorists are advised to use caution.
Construction activity and noise levels may vary throughout different phases of the project. Motorists should also anticipate areas of uneven pavement within the project limits, which is a common condition during construction when the contractor applies multiple asphalt layers in phases. Many of these roadway conditions are temporary and will gradually improve as the project progresses.
Electronic message boards and additional signage will direct traffic through the work zone. Please note that the construction schedule may change due to inclement weather or other unexpected conditions.
