This is an institutional fight — led in the name of law and justice, not politics

This morning's arrest of former high-ranking Police and National Security Agency official Duško Golubović, carried out by the Special Police Unit under the order of the Special State Prosecutor's Office, is yet another clear confirmation that the fight against organized crime and unlawful influence is systemic, uncompromising, and rooted in the rule of law.

No official position, rank, badge, or past or present title can serve as a shield from the truth or the law.

Golubović's arrest is part of a broader and deeply rooted operation aimed at building, for the first time in Montenegro's modern history, a security sector that is fully loyal to the state and its citizens - not to interest groups or criminal networks.

Over 100 officers have been suspended, arrested, or otherwise prosecuted; internal ties within the security sector have been dismantled; mechanisms of protection for criminal groups have been taken apart; and integrity checks have been launched - including asset verification and hundreds of comprehensive background reviews. These results have not come without resistance.

This is why we understand the increased attacks on the security sector coming from political and parapolitical circles affiliated with former centers of political and criminal power. Because what they fear is not only the truth, but the fact that their influence in the system is shrinking.

This is an institutional fight - led in the name of law and justice, not politics.

And it will continue until the last trace of criminal influence is removed from our institutions. Our security services no longer serve any individual interest - they serve only the state of Montenegro and its people.

Anyone who tries to stop this process through attacks, pressure, or manipulation should understand: the truth cannot be defended by attacking the security sector. It is defended through action. And we are acting - in a fight against those who have tried to destroy the system from within.

We stand united with every honest police officer, civil servant, and citizen. And in this fight, there will be no turning back.
