Kirkland Police Department to Host Personal Gun Safety Class

KIRKLAND, Wash. - The Kirkland Police Department is inviting community members to attend a personal gun safety class focused on safe firearm practices in the home, secure storage and an overview of Washington gun laws.

Kirkland Police officers will discuss firearm safety principles, demonstrate secure storage techniques and share information about preventing unauthorized access to firearms.

The class will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Totem Lake Room at the Kirkland Police Department, located adjacent to the police department lobby.

Due to space limitations, attendance is limited to 20 participants. Attendees must be at least 21 years old and live within the City of Kirkland.

For safety reasons, attendees should not bring personal firearms to the class. Officers will use inert training aids during the presentation.
