Safran, a Leader in Ka-Band, the Fast Lane of Space Communications

With the rise of LEO constellations ("Low Earth Orbit"), the explosion of high-resolution imaging, and the growing demand for secure telecommunications, satellites are now generating massive data flows.

Located between 26.5 and 40 GHz, Ka-band enables:

  • very high data rates, exceeding 1 Gbit/s depending on the configuration;
  • expanded spectral capacity, with several GHz available for simultaneous data transmission;
  • reduced interference, thanks to a less crowded frequency range;
  • natural alignment with constellations and fast-cadence missions.

In short, Ka-band opens the way to faster, more reliable communications, ideally suited to NewSpace requirements.
