[Important] Smartphone Authentication (VIP Access) will end on June 27, 2026

Important notice for customers currently using Smartphone Authentication (VIP Access)

The Smartphone Authentication (VIP Access) service you are currently using will be discontinued on June 27, 2026.
To continue using smartphone authentication, please register for the Smartphone Authentication Service (FIDO) via the SBI Shinsei Bank App (Japanese only).
Please note that from June 28, 2026 onward, if you have not registered for Smartphone Authentication (FIDO), your daily transfer limit will be capped at JPY 2 million.

Transition Period (March 29, 2026 - June 27, 2026)

Smartphone Authentication (FIDO) is available from March 29, 2026. During the transition period, you may continue to use Smartphone Authentication (VIP Access) for transactions conducted through PowerDirect and the SBI Shinsei Bank app. However, VIP Access will no longer be available on or after June 28, 2026. During the transition period, you can register for Smartphone Authentication (FIDO) while continuing to use VIP Access. We recommend that you complete your registration as soon as possible.

Notes
Registration for Smartphone Authentication (FIDO) requires the latest version of the SBI Shinsei Bank app. Please update the app via your app store.
Use of the SBI Shinsei Bank app requires a smartphone that supports biometric authentication (fingerprint, facial recognition, etc.) and NFC functionality.

After the Transition Period (From June 28, 2026)

If you are currently using Smartphone Authentication (VIP Access) and do not complete the transition to Smartphone Authentication (FIDO) during the transition period, your authentication method will automatically switch to SMS/Telephone Authentication on or after June 28, 2026.
Even after the transition period, you may still register for Smartphone Authentication (FIDO). However, new registrations will require online identity verification using a My Number Card, a Residence Card, or a valid Driver's License.

Important notes if your authentication method changes to SMS/Telephone Authentication after the transition period:

You will no longer be able to use the SBI Shinsei Bank app.
Transfers via PowerDirect will still be available; however, the daily transfer limit will be reduced to JPY 2 million.
