For the third consecutive year, Bank of Hawaii is named on a global ranking of "World's Most Trustworthy Companies" by Newsweek, and is the only Hawaii-based company to appear on the list. A total of 1,000 companies across 23 industries and 20 countries are listed. The complete list can be found here.
"We're honored to again be named as one of the most trustworthy companies in the world. Bank of Hawaii has strived to build strong, trusted relationships with our customers, employees and community for nearly 128 years, and we are humbled to be recognized for those efforts on a global scale," said Bank of Hawaii Chairman and CEO Peter Ho.
Newsweek partnered with Statista, a statistics database and consumer research firm, to develop the ranking. Companies with over $500 million in revenue were evaluated on customer trust, investor trust and employee trust. The rankings were determined based on a sample of more than 65,000 participants from a total of 200,000 evaluations submitted. Additionally, for each company that received enough evaluations, a social listening analysis was conducted. This phase involved a sentiment analysis of the companies on several media segments and evaluating their mentions as either positive, neutral or negative. Additionally, all companies that were involved in any recent scandals or lawsuits relevant to trust were excluded from the analysis.
