Nomination Papers Available April 7, 2025

Nomination papers for elected offices in the City of Taunton will be available on Monday, April 7, 2025.

Offices on the 2025 Municipal City Election ballot will be:

• Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant Commissioners
• Planning Board
• Zoning Board of Appeals
• School Committee
• Municipal Council
• Mayor

Twenty-five (25) certified signatures from Taunton voters are required. The term of office for each of these elected positions is two years, beginning January 2026.

Candidates seeking to run for office can pick up their nomination papers and informational packet from the City Elections Department located at 15 Summer Street, 2nd Floor, Taunton, starting at 8:00am Monday, April 7th.

Completed nomination papers must be submitted to the Elections Department for certification no later than Tuesday, August 5th at 5:00 p.m.

The Preliminary Election (if necessary) is scheduled for Tuesday, September 23, 2025 and the General Election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

Candidates are encouraged to check their voter registration in advance. Your name will appear on the ballot exactly as you are registered. You can find that information here: www.registertovotema.com
