Atlantic City Electric Offers Limited-Time $50 Appliance Recycling Incentive at October 10 Drop-Off Event

Atlantic City Electric customers can earn twice the standard recycling incentive when they bring eligible air conditioners and dehumidifiers to a special appliance recycling event in Camden County this weekend.

On Saturday, October 10, Atlantic City Electric will host an Appliance Recycling Drop-Off Event at Lowe's Home Improvement, 144 NJ-73 in Voorhees Township. Customers can recycle eligible air conditioners and dehumidifiers and receive $50 per unit for up to four units. The limited-time offer doubles the standard $25 incentive, giving customers an opportunity to earn more while responsibly recycling older equipment.

Rain or shine, customers can simply drive up with their eligible appliances, and representatives will unload and recycle them at no cost. Appliances must be in working condition. Participants will receive their incentive checks by mail approximately six to eight weeks after the event.

Since the start of 2026, Atlantic City Electric customers have recycled more than 3,700 appliances through community recycling events, diverting nearly 300 tons of material from local landfills. The Appliance Recycling Program accepts refrigerators, freezers, room air conditioners and dehumidifiers, helping recover valuable metals, plastics and other reusable materials.

Beyond the October 10 event, customers can take advantage of Atlantic City Electric's Appliance Recycling Program to have eligible, working refrigerators, freezers and dehumidifiers picked up and recycled at no cost. As part of the Exelon Promise, the program is one of the ways Atlantic City Electric is helping customers save energy and manage their energy costs. Customers can receive $100 for each refrigerator or freezer recycled, $50 for each dehumidifier, and an additional $50 for each room air conditioner recycled at the same time.
