Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP Welcomes William Cusack to London Office

LONDON, U.K. (January 16, 2025) - Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP is pleased to announce the arrival of William Cusack to the Firm's London office. Mr. Cusack joins Smith Gambrell from Milbank LLP's London office where he was a member of the Transportation and Space specializing in asset finance transactions.

Mr. Cusack is a Senior Associate in the Corporate Practice and a member of the Firm's Global Transport Practice. He is an experienced asset finance and leasing lawyer specializing in the aviation sector. He advises financial institutions, aircraft lessors and airlines on complex cross-border transactions. His practice encompasses a wide range of aviation-related matters, including aircraft and engine financings, warehouse financings, and the restructuring of leasing structures. He also has significant expertise in asset trading, representing both buyers and sellers in transactions involving aircraft leased to airlines, as well as advising on export credit-backed refinancing and M&A trades in the aviation sector.

Mr. Cusack joins to support a growing 6 Partner UK team which most recently announced the promotion of Rachel Thomasen to Partner following her move to Smith Gambrell from Clifford Chance in 2023 and further expanded in October 2024 with the arrivals of Anastasia Katsea (Associate) from Milbank LLP's London office and Dibyabrata Borah (Legal Project Manager) from Baker McKenzie Hong Kong.
