Winter Weather Advisory and Bulk Leaf Pickup Program Impact

Did you know that the same equipment we use for leaf pick-up is also used for snow control? That's right - our City of Livonia Snow Crew is already gearing up for the incoming snow!

We're putting the finishing touches on the last sections of the Bulk Leaf Program, but things may move a bit slower as some equipment is being converted for snow plowing. The Department of Public Works is fully prepared and ready to roll out snowplows and salt trucks as soon as the snow begins to accumulate.

As we head into a Winter Weather Advisory, here are a few tips to help keep you safe:
Drive cautiously - Slow down, leave extra space, and give snowplows plenty of room to work.
Stay informed - Keep an eye on weather alerts and road condition updates.
Prepare your vehicle - Check your tires, battery, wipers, and keep an emergency kit on hand.
Dress warmly - Layer up, cover exposed skin, and limit time outdoors during heavy snow or extreme cold.
Clear sidewalks safely - Shovel early and often, and use salt to reduce ice buildup.

Stay safe, Livonia - and thank you for your patience as crews work hard to keep our streets clear!
