NOTICE OF RESIDENT DEATH AT LOCAL HOSPITAL
On Monday, January 19, 2026, at approximately 10:30 p.m., DC Department of Corrections (DOC) security personnel found resident Eric Manley (54), no fixed address, experiencing a medical emergency in his cell at the Central Detention Facility. Immediate life-saving measures were initiated by DOC staff and medical personnel. DC Fire and EMS responded and transported Mr. Manley to MedStar Washington Hospital Center where he was later pronounced deceased in the early morning hours of Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at approximately 3:10 a.m.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of death.
