Consul General Chen Shijie visited Auckland Arts Festival (AAF)office and met with Chief Executive Robbie Macrae on July 23, to exchange views on strengthening cooperation between the two sides.
After Macrae's introduction, Chen noted that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, the people-to-people exchanges between China and New Zealand have presented a thriving scene, laying a solid foundation for the stable development of bilateral relations. The festival has done a lot of effective work in this regard. We look forward to deepening cooperation with the festival to promote mutual understanding and exchanges between the two peoples. Chen discussed with Macrae about China's participation in AAF next year,and welcomed him to visit China at time of convenience to attend Chinese art festivals to explore potentials for future cooperation.
Auckland Arts Festival was founded in 1948 and is a renowned cultural exchange platform in New Zealand and the entire South Pacific region. It is held every March and lasts for three weeks, covering multiple art forms such as dance, drama, music, and visual arts.
