Nightly Lane Closures Scheduled on I-64 Westbound at Nitro Interchange, beginning Thursday, Sept. 25

Nightly lane closures are scheduled on Interstate 64 westbound, from mile marker 45.5 to mile marker 44.0, between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, through Monday, Sept. 29, 2025, for bridge approach repairs at the Nitro Interchange.

The work will be done in two phases.

  • Phase 1: The westbound right shoulder, right auxiliary lane, and right slow lane will be closed. The Nitro westbound on-ramp will be placed in a stop condition. The Nitro Interchange westbound exit ramp will remain open.

  • Phase 2: The westbound left lane and middle lane will be closed. The Nitro westbound on-ramp will be placed in a yield condition. The Nitro Interchange westbound exit ramp will remain open.

Motorists should expect delays, follow posted signage, and use caution when traveling through the work zone.

Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.​
