2025 IT Camp on AI & Machine Learning for Beginners to be held August 5

Southeastern Oklahoma State University will host its annual IT Camp on Tuesday, August 5, as Dr. Ming-Shan Su hosts a workshop on "Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Beginners."

The workshop will begin at 5:30 p.m. in room 104 of the Classroom Building on the Southeastern Campus (1427 North 7th Avenue). Admission is free of charge and no prior experience or sign-up is required. The event is tailored to anyone aged 10 or older. The first 30 participants will receive a USB drive with face-swapping software.

Topics to be covered include Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) - Why Bother?; Understanding AI and ML; How AI and ML Work; a hands-on activity; Ethical Considerations and The Future of AI; and a Q&A session.

The workshop will be led by Dr. Ming-Shan Su, Pam Fahrendorf Endowed Professor in Computer Science and Technology at Southeastern, and Rahul Iyengar from Arizona State University. The event is supported by the John Massey School of Business and First United Bank.
