On Thursday, January 29, Mr. Ochi Toshiyuki, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, held a meeting with Mr. Daren Tang, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).*1 They exchanged views on the cooperative relationship between Japan and WIPO in the field of intellectual property.
During the meeting, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Ochi expressed his appreciation for Director General Tang's cooperation with the EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. They shared their understanding of the need to strengthen cooperation, including by improving the convenience of international application and registration systems in order to promote innovation through intellectual property.
