Poly Punch Demo Day

Greenwood, Miss., May 4, 2026 -Precision Flow Technologies, LLC, today announced the launch of Poly Punch, a patent-pending agricultural irrigation technology designed to simplify and accelerate the installation of poly pipe in farm fields. The Poly Punch system automatically punches evenly spaced holes in poly pipe as it is rolled out across the field, eliminating the need for manual hole punching and significantly improving efficiency for farmers during irrigation setup.

The technology behind Poly Punch was developed by Dr. Drew Gholson and Dr. Wes Lowe, professors at Mississippi State University, whose research focuses on irrigation efficiency and water management in agricultural systems. The two professors have joined with Frank Brumfield and the FSB Companies team to form Precision Flow Technologies, LLC which has obtained an exclusive license to commercialize the patent-pending innovation, bringing the research breakthrough from the university to practical use in the field.

Poly pipe irrigation is widely used in row crop agriculture, but the traditional process of manually punching holes along the pipe can be time-consuming and labor-intensive. Poly Punch addresses this challenge by integrating automated hole-punching capability directly into the pipe rollout process. As farmers deploy poly pipe across the field, the system precisely creates outlet holes at the desired spacing, helping ensure consistent water distribution which could lead to better crop yield results while reducing labor requirements, installation time, and input costs.

"Poly Punch was designed with the realities of modern farming in mind," said Frank Brumfield of Precision Flow Technologies, LLC. "Farmers are under increasing pressure to manage labor costs and maximize efficiency. This technology streamlines one of the most tedious parts of poly pipe irrigation setup while using prescribed farm flow data to improve water usage, leading to more efficient crop production."

"Much of our research is focused on helping farmers irrigate more efficiently while exploring ways to reduce the Mississippi River Alluvial aquifer usage and conserve water," said Dr. Drew Gholson. "Poly Punch is a practical solution that simplifies poly pipe installation and helps producers implement more consistent irrigation practices in the field."

Dr. Wes Lowe added, "This technology grew out of conversations with farmers about the time and labor required to punch holes in poly pipe during irrigation setup. Seeing the concept move from university research into a commercial product that can directly benefit growers is extremely rewarding."

The company is currently developing a stationary model to pre-punch poly pipe and a field model that punches holes in the pipe as it is rolled out in the field. The Poly Punch tools aim to help farmers save time, reduce labor, and improve irrigation uniformity. Precision Flow Technologies expects the system to be especially valuable for row crop producers using furrow irrigation systems across the Mid-South and other irrigated agricultural regions.

Precision Flow Technologies is hosting a Poly Punch demo day at Delta Grain in Sidon, Miss., on Wednesday, May 13, at 9 a.m. weather permitting. For more information about Poly Punch and Precision Flow Technologies, LLC, please contact John Stratton at [email protected].
