City of Buckeye Senior Program Earns Statewide Recognition

Buckeye's Senior Program has officially received the Arizona Parks and Recreation Association (APRA) Outstanding Program Award for its popular Friendsgiving Bingo partnership with the City of Glendale.

Recognized under the Active Adult 50+ Program category, the statewide award honors programs demonstrating exceptional innovation, strong inter-agency partnerships and meaningful impact on the community.

The joint Friendsgiving Bingo event brought active adults from both Buckeye and Glendale together under one roof to share a meal, play games and build cross-valley friendships. By combining resources and staffing across municipal borders, both recreation teams were able to provide a larger, more memorable experience that engaged dozens of local seniors.

Collaborating with the City of Glendale showed just how much we can accomplish when neighboring communities work together. Our participants had an incredible time, our community bonds grew stronger and this award proves what a difference partnership can make.
