Governor Kotek Orders Flags Lowered to Half-Staff for National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend

Today, Governor Tina Kotek ordered flags at Oregon public institutions to be flown at half-staff on Sunday, May 4, 2025, pursuant to a Presidential Proclamation, and in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service.

"This weekend we honor the fallen firefighters who were lost in the line of duty - and we hold in our hearts the loved ones who miss them. We owe an untold debt to their courage and service to their communities." Governor Kotek said.

The National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend, held in Emmitsburg, Maryland, commemorates the volunteer and professional firefighters who died in the line of duty during the previous year.
