Indiana Signs Letter of Intent with Eli Lilly and Company on the Pathway to Nuclear

On April 16, 2026, Indiana Governor Mike Braun signed a Letter of Intent with Eli Lilly and Company to formalize a partnership for the progression of advanced nuclear in the state. The Letter of Intent establishes a collaborative framework exploring the feasibility of nuclear energy in Indiana and assessing different approaches for procurement and deployment, all while striving to support the state's long-term energy and economic development goals. The Indiana Office of Energy Development (OED) was the key state party involved in the development of this agreement. OED also serves as a co-chair of the NASEO Advanced Nuclear First Mover Initiative, which advances next-generation nuclear technologies.
