Celebrating Indonesia's 80th Independence Day, Bukit Asam and BUMN Volunteers Educate Young People Through 'Energy Exploration'

Tanjung Enim, August 19, 2025 - To commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) and BUMN Volunteers Corps are collaborating on the Energy Exploration program. This event invites 50 students from the company's operational areas to understand the world of mining, energy transition, and the importance of environmental sustainability.

The event, which took place from August 15 to 17, 2025, is part of the BUMN Volunteer Program (RBB) Batch VIII 2025 series. Acting as co-host with MIND ID, PTBA welcomed 10 selected volunteers from various state-owned enterprises who accompanied the students at the Bukit Asam Coal Museum.

Interactive Learning Experience with Volunteers

In the Energy Exploration program, volunteers play a unique role as museum guides. Equipped with prepared guides and prior training, they deliver educational content in an interactive, easy-to-understand, and enthusiastic manner. Each volunteer is responsible for accompanying five students, creating a more personal and enjoyable learning environment.

In addition to museum visits, this activity also organizes two thematic educational programs: namely My Dream Profession in the Future and I Protect My Environment. Through a creative approach, this program not only fosters a spirit for learning but also awareness of the importance of protecting the environment from an early age.

According to Rangga D Sapta, Head of Community Investment & Engagement at MIND ID, this series of activities provides valuable experiences for both students and volunteers. "Through Energy Exploration, students gain a real understanding of mining processes, energy transition, and sustainability. Other programs also successfully foster a love for learning in a creative and enjoyable way," he explained.

Collaboration Aligned with Government's Asta Cita

Dedy Saptaria Rosa, Head of Sustainability Division at PTBA, expressed his pride in hosting this meaningful activity. "Seeing the students' enthusiasm and the volunteers' dedication is a source of joy for us. We believe that state-owned enterprise collaboration not only provides education but also shapes a generation that is more aware of sustainable energy, the environment, and their future," said Dedy.

This activity directly supports the government's priority program, Asta Cita, which aims to realize an advanced Indonesia. The Energy Exploration Program at the Coal Museum is in line with crucial points in Asta Cita, namely Human Resource Development and Science & Technology. This activity concretely focuses on building the capacity of the younger generation, providing in-depth knowledge about energy and sustainability. Additionally, the Asta Cita program related to Character Development and Education is realized through a creative educational approach, instilling noble values such as environmental awareness and resilience to achieve aspirations. The aspect of Innovation-Based Economic Transformation and the Environment is also reflected in education about energy transition and environmental sustainability, which is imparted to students as essential preparation for future challenges.

The synergy between volunteers, companies, and schools in this activity demonstrates that education can be delivered in an inspiring and impactful manner, in line with the spirit of Indonesia's 80th Independence Day, "United, Sovereign, Prosperous, and Advanced Indonesia".
