Tune into WOL 1450 AM, 95.9 FM or the WOL Livestream on Thursday, June 18 at 10:30 a.m. EST for Everything Co-op, hosted by Vernon Oakes.
This week, Everything Co-op sits down with Nathan Schneider to discuss the intersection of cooperatives and AI-progress made and what the future could hold.
Nathan Schneider is an associate professor of media studies at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he directs the Media Economies Design Lab and engages deeply with his students.
Schneider has authored, edited or contributed to seven books, most recently Beautiful Solutions: A Toolbox for Liberation (October 2024), which he edited with Elandria Williams, Rachel Plattus and Eli Feghali. Other titles include Governable Spaces: Democratic Design for Online Life and Everything for Everyone: The Radical Tradition that Is Shaping the Next Economy. He edited Vitalik Buterin's book Proof of Stake: The Making of Ethereum and the Philosophy of Blockchains and co-edited Ours to Hack and to Own: The Rise of Platform Cooperativism, a New Vision for the Future of Work and a Fairer Internet.
His prolific writing includes articles for both magazines and academic journals, reflecting his commitment to chronicling ideas and exploring the potential of perfect worlds and ordinary imaginations in practice. Schneider views every word as a hypothesis and a test, acutely aware that even the most casual remark contributes to the irrevocable construction of our world. Working with others to build a democratic economy keeps him grounded and accountable.
