Iran condemns U.S. new sanctions against Tehran foreign partners

Iran's Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmaeil Baqaei, strongly condemned the new sanctions imposed by the United States on natural and legal persons in Iran and several other countries under the pretext of cooperation with Tehran in various economic and commercial sectors.

Referring to the continued hostile, unlawful, and inhumane policies of the United States against the Iranian people, Baqaei described these unjust sanctions as violations of the fundamental principles and rules of international law, including the norms of human rights. He added that the sanctions announced in recent days under various pretexts against Iranian and non-Iranian individuals and companies are a clear indication of the persistent lawlessness of American policymakers and their infringement upon the rights and interests of other nations, as well as their attempts to disrupt friendly and legitimate relations among developing countries through economic terrorism.

Baqaei further characterized these sanctions-designed within the framework of the failed and criminal policy of maximum pressure against the great Iranian nation-as further proof of the American decision-makers' contradictory behavior and lack of good faith and seriousness in advancing the path of diplomacy. He stressed that responsibility for the destructive consequences and outcomes arising from the United States' erratic conduct and provocative statements regarding Iran rests squarely with the American side.

Baghaei, recalling the United States' longstanding record of hostility towards the Iranian people-including through economic sanctions and its obstruction of Iran's scientific, economic, and technological development- said this approach has led to deep distrust and suspicion of the United States among Iranians.

He emphasized the Iranian nation's resolute determination to resist American intimidation and pressure, and to employ all available means to pursue Iran's honorable path toward dignified growth and progress
