Residents are invited to connect, explore and share their love for the North Port community during two free events taking place Saturday, Feb. 14. Newcomer Day and the Community Yard Sale will once again bring residents together for a morning focused on community resources, local shopping and neighborly connections.

Newcomer Day: Hosted in partnership with the North Port Area Chamber of Commerce, Newcomer Day is an expo-style event designed to welcome new residents while also serving longtime community members. Attendees can explore information tables hosted by local businesses, nonprofit organizations, government departments, and community groups, offering a helpful snapshot of services, programs and opportunities available throughout Sarasota County's largest city.

When: Feb. 14 from 10 a.m. to noon
Where: George Mullen Activity Center, 1602 Kramer Way
Details: NorthPortFL.gov/NewcomerDay

Nonprofit organizations interested in hosting an information table may register online at NorthPortFL.gov/NewcomerDay. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached. Please note local business spaces are currently full.

Community Yard Sale: Just steps away, the Community Yard Sale invites shoppers to browse a mix of gently used items, handmade goods and creative finds. This outdoor event blends the feel of a traditional yard sale with the creativity of local crafters and artisans, making it a fun stop for bargain hunters and families alike.

When: Feb. 14 from 8 a.m. to noon
Where: City Center Front Green, 4970 City Hall Blvd.

The Community Yard Sale will also return on March 7 at the same time and location.

Vendors, crafters and artisans must register in advance to participate. Registration is available at NorthPortFL.gov/CommunityYardSale. The vendor fee is $20 per space, with tables available for rent for an additional $10 while supplies last.

Food vendors are also encouraged to apply through NorthPortFL.gov/Vendor-Opportunities. Food vendor participation is subject to specific guidelines and space availability. Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance. Applicants will be contacted within 72 business hours regarding their status.

Free parking will be available in designated areas throughout the City Center Campus for both events. Additional event details will be available on each event webpage.
