New Merch Item Will Benefit Conservation Colorado
Tour with Iron & Wine Continues Through April; Headline Shows In LA And Colorado To Follow
|
April 23, 2025: Colorado-bred, Tennessee-based artist Jobi Riccio has shared new single "Wildfire Season," a powerful statement on climate change. Riccio started writing the song back in 2020, "when my home state Colorado and the west suffered fires that made national headlines for turning the sky a hellish orange," she says. The song - which has been a fan-favorite part of her live show over the past year+ as she's toured with Jason Isbell, Brandy Clark, The Wood Brothers, Iron & Wine, Molly Tuttle and more - expresses the anger and heartbreak felt as the climate crisis continues to devastate communities, and how powerful people seem more focused on profit rather than addressing the issues at hand.
"I hope this song can be a rallying cry to organizations and activists working to hold corporations accountable, for the indigenous LAND BACK movement, and a moment of catharsis for all those in need of it, especially those of us young enough to have to live longer with these consequences," says Riccio in a statement, which you can read in full HERE .
Growing up in Morrison, Colorado, Riccio spent her childhood hiking in the Rockies and enjoying nature. But as a 26-year-old in 2025, 20 of the largest wildfires in Colorado's history have happened within her lifetime. Riccio is passionate about climate activism, and is partnering with Conservation Colorado for "Wildfire Season." Riccio, in collaboration with visual artist Matt Cliff, has new Colorado-themed limited-edition art print postcards and will donate a portion of the proceeds directly to the organization.
"Jobi's music is a powerful force for change, and we're honored to partner with her in the fight for a healthy climate and resilient communities in Colorado. By using her platform to spotlight the climate crisis and uplift our work, she's helping drive real progress," says Miranda Graul, Vice President of Fundraising for Conservation Colorado. "'Wildfire Season' is a timely, moving song that will inspire action-and we're excited to collaborate in raising both awareness and funds for lasting environmental change."
