On June 22, Ambassador Kong Xianhua met with the newly appointed Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation of the Maldives, H.E. Mohamed Ameen, and exchanged views on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of tourism and civil aviation.
Ambassador Kong stated that tourism cooperation is an important component of China-Maldives economic and trade relations, with broad development potential. Since the beginning of this year, the number of Chinese tourists visiting the Maldives has continued to grow, providing significant support for the Maldives to effectively offset the impact of Middle East regional instability on its tourism market. China is steadily advancing the implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan, and people's living standards are continuously improving, ensuring the outbound tourism market maintains steady growth. China hopes that the Maldives will further strengthen its research and investment in the Chinese market, continuously optimize safety measures, and enhance the travel experience for Chinese tourists, creating a better environment for bilateral tourism cooperation.
Minister Mohamed Ameen stated that the Maldives attaches great importance to cooperation with China and looks forward to deepening practical cooperation with China in tourism, civil aviation, and other fields, injecting new impetus into the sound and stable development of bilateral relations.
