Fund II Invests US$ 12 Million in Monty Mobile to Support Digital Infrastructure in Africa

Investment will fund new mobile network operator agreements, increase messaging volumes and strengthen the digital infrastructure supporting financial services, e-commerce and other essential platforms across the continent.

Luxembourg August 11, 2026 - BluePeak Private Capital Fund II has made an initial investment of US$ 12 million in Monty Mobile International, marking the beginning of a broader financing partnership, the African hub of Monty Mobile Limited, a leading provider of application-to-person messaging and telecommunications solutions.

Monty Mobile provides the infrastructure that enables businesses and digital platforms to communicate directly with customers through application-to-person, or A2P, messaging. This includes one-time passwords, transaction alerts, financial notifications, delivery updates and other enterprise communications that support everyday digital activity.

The company currently operates across 35 African countries through 15 mobile network operator partnerships, reaching an addressable market of approximately 66 million consumers.

"Monty Mobile combines essential digital infrastructure with a scalable, asset-light business model and deep relationships with mobile network operators across Africa," said Fulton Shiundu, Partner, Investments at BluePeak Private Capital. "We see a clear opportunity to support the company's next phase of growth while strengthening the services that financial institutions, businesses and digital platforms increasingly depend on."

Across many African markets, SMS remains a critical enterprise communication channel. Uneven smartphone penetration and data connectivity mean that text messaging continues to provide a reliable and widely accessible way for banks, lenders, e-commerce platforms and other businesses to authenticate customers and deliver important information.

Monty Mobile's technology connects enterprises and service providers to mobile networks across a fragmented operating environment. Its scale, technical integrations and operator partnerships create significant barriers to entry while enabling customers to deliver high volumes of mission-critical messages efficiently and reliably.

"Africa is an important growth market for Monty Mobile, and this investment will allow us to deepen our operator relationships, expand our reach and serve more businesses across the continent," said Mountasser Hachem, Founder and CEO of Monty Mobile. "BluePeak brings both capital and a strong understanding of African markets, making them a valuable partner as we continue to scale."

The investment also aligns with BluePeak's strategy of backing businesses that provide critical underlying infrastructure for economic growth and digital inclusion.

Monty Mobile's services enable access to financial services, e-commerce and digital platforms through authentication, transaction alerts and enterprise communications. The company operates across markets including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania and Uganda, many of which are classified as low- or lower-middle-income economies.

The investment is expected to contribute to Sustainable Development Goal 8, focused on decent work and economic growth, and Sustainable Development Goal 9, focused on industry, innovation and infrastructure. BluePeak will track indicators including A2P messaging volumes, active African operator relationships, employment and the number of markets served.

The transaction also includes measures to strengthen Monty Mobile's governance and gender-related policies. A Gender Action Plan will support greater female representation in senior management and improve gender monitoring and accountability across the business.
