Section of Sheringham Promenade Closed

Date published: 14th January 2026

The Council has temporarily closed a small section of the east end of Sheringham Promenade for emergency works. As seen in the image below.

The Coastal Management team has identified a large void beneath the prom structure that requires immediate attention.

Please do not cross the barriers or attempt to walk through the closed section.

The team will investigate this issue further and work to repair the area. The first step is to establish the full scale of the problem beneath the promenade and work to find an effective solution. The promenade will reopen once it is safe to do so.

Access to the beach remains open at both ends of the promenade; however, please note there is no through access at high tide.
