Crowell & Moring Adds Former EPA Attorney Michele Knorr to Environment & Natural Resources Group

Washington - September 22, 2026: Crowell & Moring announced today that Michele Knorr, a former attorney in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Office of General Counsel, has joined the firm as senior counsel in its Environment & Natural Resources Group, where she will advise clients on agricultural technology and chemical regulatory issues.

During her tenure at the EPA, Knorr advised the agency on matters involving agriculture, crop protection products, endangered species, environmental justice, and energy efficiency programs, including Energy Star. She also collaborated closely with the U.S. Department of Justice to represent the EPA in litigation and helped negotiate agreements with regulated entities and other key stakeholders. Earlier in her career, Knorr developed a strong technical foundation in environmental science through roles as a scientist with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, an environmental specialist with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, and a laboratory chemist.

Knorr earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Towson University, a Master of Arts in Natural Resources from Ball State University, and her Juris Doctor with an emphasis in Environmental Law from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
