Log Cabin Republicans Statement on the Passing of Ted Olson

Washington, D.C. - Charles Moran, President of Log Cabin Republicans, the nation's oldest and largest Republican organization representing LGBT conservatives and allies, issued the following statement on the passing of Ted Olson:

"The Log Cabin Republicans are saddened to hear of the passing of Ted Olson. Ted was a longtime advocate for welcoming LGBT conservatives into the Republican Party and ally to the Log Cabin organization. Most notably, he played a principled and critical role in the legal effort to overturn California's gay marriage ban, arguing against Proposition 8 in court and paving the way for the Supreme Court's historic decision in Obergefell v Hodges making marriage equality the law of the land. We are thankful for his leadership."
