(LaFollette, Tenn., February 27, 2026) - U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Tennessee State Director Patrick Jaynes today announced a $49,000 Community Facilities Persistent Poverty Grant totheCampbell County Rural Fire Service for the purchase of a new brush truck.
The Campbell County Rural Fire Service is a volunteer department with 30 members who respond to more than 275 emergency events annually. The new brush truck will enhance the department's ability to manage rural mountain fire incidents and improve medical and rescue response across the service area.
"President Trump and Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins are committed to ensuring that rural communities have the resources they need to respond effectively when emergencies occur," said Jaynes. "This investment will provide Campbell County's volunteer firefighters with a modern and reliable brush truck, strengthening their ability to protect residents and the surrounding area. We appreciate the dedicated service of the Campbell County Rural Fire Service and are proud to support their continued work on behalf of this community."
