NWH campus access on April 15, Marathon Monday

The 128th Boston Marathon takes place on Monday, April 15. Please take note of the following Marathon-related impacts at Newton-Wellesley Hospital.

Entering and exiting the hospital campus:

Washington Street will be closed to motor vehicle traffic from 8 a.m. to approximately 4:45 p.m. on race day. Both the East Entrance and the West Entrance to the hospital will be closed to all vehicle traffic. The hospital will be accessible only from Dorset Road in the rear of our campus. This fire road entrance will open at 7:30 a.m. Please see the map and directions below.

Directions to access NWH campus:

  • From Route 128, exit onto Route 9 East.
  • Immediately after merging onto Route 9 East, stay to the right and exit toward William St./Chestnut St./ UpperFalls/Waban.
  • Take the second left under Route 9 onto Chestnut St.
  • Follow Chestnut St. to Beacon St. (0.9 mi) and turn left onto Beacon St.
  • Follow Beacon St. to Dorset Rd. (1.0 mi) and turn right onto Dorset Rd.
  • Follow Dorset Rd. to the unpaved fire road to the hospital (0.1 mi).

Parking on campus during April 15:

  • The Patient/Visitor Garage main entrance will close at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 12.
  • All vehicles must be removed from Lot A, Lot C, and the Patient/Visitor Garage by 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 13.
  • Any vehicles parked on Washington St. will be towed on Sunday, April 14 to prepare for road closures on Monday.

Closures:

  • All outpatient phlebotomy services will be closed and no other public draw stations will be open on race day.
  • The Waltham Walk-In Clinic will be closed on race day.
