Growing efforts of malign actors to use the information space for democratic process disruption requires preparedness and common understanding of the threat.
On 5 February 2026, the European External Action Service (EEAS) Stratcom Directorate gathered experts from European institutions, representatives of Armenia government institutions, EU Member States, institutional partners, non-governmental organisations, civil society organisations and members of the media community for the Armenia Information Resilience Conference to discuss evolving information threats.
In the context of upcoming parliamentary elections in Armenia and growing information manipulation operations in the region, discussion and exchanges facilitated common understanding of the threat. Participants of the conference discussed that common understanding helps to reinforce preparedness and resilience to manipulation throughout the whole of society.
Participants had an opportunity to discuss and share experiences on how to ensure information integrity and protect democratic processes from manipulation. The EU and Armenia participants shared what information environment threats are already visible and what can be anticipated in the upcoming months. The conference served as a platform for finding opportunities and points for cooperation among partners from all side of society and institutions.
