Dakota State University Assistant Professor of Information Systems Abeer Alkhwaldi and her research team were recently awarded the prestigious National Research Award 2025 from the Sultanate of Oman's Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation.
The research project highlighted by the award was titled: "Investigating the critical drivers of Fintech adoption to promote business sustainability of SMEs." The project was specifically recognized as the Best Published Research Led by a PhD Holder in the Culture, Social, and Basic Sciences Sector.
Alkhwaldi's team included Dr. Mohd Abass Bhat, Dr. Shagufta Tariq Khan, and Dr. Amir A. Abdulmuhsin.
"This recognition is a testament to the robust scholarly environment and the high standards of research excellence at Dakota State University," Alkhwaldi said. "I sincerely appreciate the support, encouragement, and resources provided by the department, the College of Business & Information Systems, and the university administration, which were vital to this success."
