R-L: U.S. Senator Coons, Head of Representation Isbosethsen, Ambassador Møller Sørensen, U.S. Senator McConnell.
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Defense Subcommittee, U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Ranking Member, U.S. Senator Chris Coons (D-DE), released the following statement today on their meeting with Ambassador of Denmark to the United States Jesper Møller Sørensen and Head of Representation for Greenland to the United States and Canada Jacob Isbosethsen:
"Alliances make America safer and more secure. And as the Arctic becomes a center of strategic competition with Russia and the PRC, capable northern allies like Denmark and friends like Greenland will be invaluable. Two hundred twenty-five years after the United States and Denmark established diplomatic relations, we were glad to discuss the future of trans-Atlantic cooperation in the Arctic with Ambassador Møller Sørensen and Head of Representation Isbosethsen and reiterate strong Senate support for the friendship on which our alliance is built."
