Community Invited to Help Shape Bellfower’s Hazard Mitigation Plan

In August, the City of Bellflower initiated a project to update its 2018 Hazard Mitigation Plan, a strategic document that identifies local hazards and outlines actions to reduce risk to people, property and infrastructure. As part of the process, the City invited residents to share their input through a community survey, which revealed strong interest in learning more about local hazards and how to address them.

To continue this important work, the City is committed to a transparent, inclusive planning process and encourages the public to participate in upcoming monthly Planning Team meetings.

The first meeting will be held Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. via Zoom. The discussion will cover the project timeline, hazard identification, preliminary risk assessment and community outreach activities. All residents are encouraged to attend and share their ideas on how Bellflower can strengthen its resilience to natural and human-caused hazards.
